I know this is technically a day late, but I did write it last night, honest, I just may have fallen asleep before remembering to publish!
Hullo there folks, I’m afraid it’s been another quiet one,
but I thought I should get something uploaded as a few interesting things have
happened. As it turned out the piping took up until Thursday to complete, top
tip of this weeks blog update – don’t employ a marine biologist to do your
plumbing. Here’s a picture of the construction site, which, I’m reliably
informed, is all ready to have concrete poured on Tuesday, it’ll be nice to
have a floor!
Seahorse numbers continue to rise as well, and one of the
males gave birth to some more fry yesterday. Luckily we’d just finished work on
another tank that should give them a better chance of survival, I didn’t have
time to get pictures of it unfortunately, but they’re on the way!
I did get some OK footage of them feeding in the end, it’s a
pretty cool thing to see, here’s a clip if you’re interested:
Last night I went to a party one of the guys in the panto
was having, he works at Vipingo Ridge,
a golf course/residential community and one of the perks of the job is house up
on the ridge, it’s a stunning location with views up and down the coast and out
to sea. It was meant to be 70s themed, but I neglected to pack much in the way
of fancy dress, so ended going along with a poorly painted handlebar tache
(definitely regretted not doing Movember
this year), a bandana I forgot to put on and billabong shorts.
Luckily I wasn’t the only one who’d failed miserably. It was a good night, the
first ‘proper’ socialising I’ve done since I got here, although I’m definitely
not used to getting a rubbish night’s sleep anymore!
We’re now 10 days away from the first night of the panto, we
got the first full run through done on Wednesday which was good fun and not too
much of a disaster. Fingers crossed rehearsals go well, I think it might
actually be alright!
That’s all for this week as far as I can remember, hope
you’re all still enjoying reading this, I’ll be back in a week!
